Tammie,

I can not overemphasize how happy we are with our new dog.  Amanda and Jake have trained an animal that is unbelievably calm and quiet and fits beautifully into our family.  She does not bark in the home and never jumps up on people.  When new people come through the door, Lola remains her calm, quiet self.  Keep in mind, all of what follows represents only 4 days for Lola in our family:

In our home, the children practice cello and violin for a combined 4 hours daily.  Lola sits quietly at my feet in the living room through all of it, watching them play and somehow knowing not to approach them or the instruments during practice time.  During practice, Lola is happy with the rubs she gets from me and nods in and out of sleep.  Similarly, dinner hour in our home is a quiet time with all of us around the table.  Lola sits in the corner (it was important to me not to have a dog waiting for table scraps under the table) in a down stay throughout the meal, content with her chew toy.  All of this is new for Lola and us, so I find that she needs 2-3 reminders during the first few minutes of dinner.  After that, she stays in place very contentedly.

Lola loves to play fetch at the park and enjoys approaching other dogs in the neighborhood.  We allow her to play in the park off leash, and when I call her, she ALWAYS comes immediately (even when actively playing with other dogs, which I find extremely impressive for a 6 month old puppy).  Her eagerness to come tells me that throughout her training, she was treated kindly and rewarded positively during training.

Within 24 hours of having Lola around, I learned that she responds best to a quiet voice, even a whisper.  I love that Amanda taught her to respond to a quiet "shhhht" to grab her attention and reorganize.  There is not an ounce of stubbornness in this dog - she always wants to please.

When we decided to bring a dog into our home, I had braced myself for about 18 months of a rambunctious puppy, who would chew my furniture and bother the neighbors with barking when we were not at home.  What we have is a beautifully trained, calm dog who would be welcome by any family.  We couldn't be more excited to have her around for the coming years!

Thank you so much,
Stacy Raviv
